ABOUT MRS. JONES

Hello ya'll! Welcome!!!

This is my 4th year teaching Art at David A. Harrison Elementary! I began my journey with Art many many moons ago right here in Prince George County! Yes, I am what I call a home grown girl! I was born in Hopewell and began 7th grade at the old J.E.J. Moore Junior High School (now the Wellness Center)! Here is where I was greatly influenced by my first art teacher! I graduated from Prince George High School where I was Editor of the Yearbook, part of the Art Club, took photography and was even a PG Cheerleader! Looking back that is where it all began! Then I went to one of the BEST art schools in the country, Virginia Commonwealth University, where I earned my Bachelors in Fine Arts in Communication Arts & Design. I then got married to my PG High School sweetheart.

Well, you are thinking what next? I worked for many years running my own photography business and had four beautiful and super children! No, they did not have super powers even though sometimes it feels like it! I stayed at home with them until is was time for them to go off to Kindergarten! Guess where they went? They began at Harrison. This is where I fell in love with teaching little people! I began subbing and before you know it, I went back to school and earned my Masters in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University!

I am excited to teach and inspire my students to grow to love ART. The seed was planted long ago for me and I want to plant that seed for my students!

Educating. Guiding. Inspiring.

Everyday.
